Happy Mother's Day (yesterday)

Me and Madilyn on Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. I would like everyone to know that I have two great mothers in my life. I have my own mother who is such a great example to me. She is one of the most selfless people I know and has given so much to her children. I consider her one of my best friends. She is also so talented. If I could posses half the talent my mother has I would be very happy. I also have my mother-in-law who is also just wonderful. She raised a wonderful man who is my husband. So many of Anton's good qualities I know he got from his mom.

I have been a mother now for a little over a year now. I can honestly say I am the happiest and most content than I have ever been before. For those of you who know me well, it is a huge accomplishment for me. For so many years I went back and forth deciding what I wanted my major in college to be. I hated working, but I also never fully enjoyed going to school because I was never sure of my major. I don't regret one minute that I went to school. I learned things I would have otherwise never learned. I have not finished my four year degree, and I can honestly say that I don't know if I ever will, and I am totally okay with that. Motherhood is the hardest thing I have ever done, it is also the most rewarding. I wouldn't trade any degree or dream job for the job I have now. I could not imagine my life without my little girl. Madilyn, you complete me. (Yes, that was meant to be a cheesy line)

Well, I had a good mother's day. We were up in Portland and we got to spend some time with family which is good. Anton got me a pair of sandals that I had been wanting, so that was fun. We went to church with my parents and their ward gave out See's chocolate to the women, so that was great. Madilyn has started saying "mama". She has yet to connect me with the word, but it is still fun to hear.

Madilyn has started taking a water babies class. She seems to enjoy it. It is fun to get out and do something with Madilyn besides the usual. She looks dang cute in her swimsuit, it is a tankini. When I get pictures of her in her suit I will post them. I went to the grocery store today and I got many comments from people about how cute and beautiful Madilyn is. I would thank those who said the nice comments, but I just thought "I know." :)

We have about 4 1/2 weeks until we move back to Portland. I am excited to move back home but I will really miss Corvallis. It really is such a nice little town. I love how everything is close, the city is clean and we have made great friends down here.

Well hey there foxy lady! 4 1/2 weeks? Can I tell you just how excited I am to have you back in P-tizown? (I know I'm a nerd...I don't really talk like that.) We really HAVE to get together after you're all settled. Let us know if you guys need any help with setting up your home. I miss you a lot and have really been looking forward to having you close by.

I'm really glad that you had a great Mother's Day.

I'm glad to read those things you wrote about being a mom, they make me feel a little better. Sometimes I feel like it will be such a waste of four years of hard work if I don't get a career after all that schooling...
