Happy Father's Day

Anton with Madilyn at the beach.

My Dad with Madilyn at about 6 weeks old.

I just want to send out a belated Father's Day message. This is Anton's second Father's Day. He is such an awesome father to our little girl. He is everything a good father should be. I feel so blessed to have him as my husband and father to our child.

I also want to say a few things about my own father. We call him Poppy, Pops, Pop, Dad. I love the humor my dad has. I love that he loves my mom and always puts her needs before his own. I love that he always has a band-aid in his wallet just in case. I love how he would collect pop cans and buy us treats with the money. I love how he would always have some kind of treat hidden away and I was able to find all of the hiding places. I love that he would always want us kids to go to the grocery store with him to keep him company. I love how you could never leave your food out of your site for fear that poppy would eat it thinking that no one was going to eat it. I love that he would go around turning off all the lights in the house to save electricity, a few times turning them off while you were still in room. I love how my Dad laughs a church during the service and his laugh shakes the whole bench. I love how easily my dad laughs. I love how my dad is always misplacing his glasses and I am still able to find them for him whenever I am at my parents house. I find it funny how he consistently misplaces the same three items: checkbook, glasses, grocery list. I love how I would go to the store with my dad and people would know him by name. I love how he sings all the time, although it was annoying as a teenager hearing him sing loudly (very loudly) early in the morning when he would get home from work. I love how he would go to almost every one of my sports games, and he was the loudest cheerleader there. I love how he would take me to the mall even though he loathes it. I love how he always provided for our family and how he loves all of his children and grandchildren. Ray is a simple man and it doesn't take much to make him happy. I could go on and on making a very long list of all the quirky lovable things my dad does and is, but the most important is that I know he loves me and he is my Poppy. I love you Dad!!!
