This is a very old picture, but it is just an example of how fashion forward Maddy really is.
We have a Burger King near our apartment that has a large indoor play structure. To play on this the children are required to wear socks. Anton was helping Maddy to get ready to go play at this Burger King. Here was the conversation:
Anton: "Maddy you have to wear socks if you want to play." (Whenever Maddy wears socks she usually wears her Disney Princess tennis shoes, which I swore to myself no child of mine would wear. They light up and make noise...Ugh, but she loves them.)
Maddy: "Socks, with my dress?
Anton: "Yep"
Maddy: (making a disgusted face) "Not with my dress, I wear pants."
Maddy then proceeds to her bedroom where she picks out some shorts to wear. Stacy London would be so proud. Who wears princess tennis shoes with a dress anyway? So not cool :)
The other week we were at a park in Lake Oswego. Maddy was playing with some girls around 4 years old, here was their conversation:
The "leader" girl: "Okay, who wants to be the one who likes pink?"
Maddy:"Me, Me, I like pink!!!"
"leader":"Ok you like pink, we like black, and we think pink is passe. That is French for old."
What the?

Man are you going to have your hands even more full!! At least she won't go through any of those funky "matching" stages. I always wonder what those parents are thinking letting their kids go out in public like that. Oh, wait a minute...my kids do that. Dang it!
