Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all!! Tomorrow we will be going up to Portland to celebrate Thanksgiving with the family. I love this time of year we have to spend with family and to reflect on the things we are grateful for. Tyler and Celeste are coming into town from Utah so I will be able to see their little boy Noah for the very first time. Madilyn and Noah are only 13 days apart. This last weekend we went up to Portland to see Anton's brother David and David's wife Sara and their four kids. We haven't seen them for about 3 years. David and Sara recently moved from Omaha, Nebraska to West Jordan, Utah. We met two of their children for the first time. Their youngest Wyatt (a very cute red headed boy) is about 4 1/2 months older than Madilyn. Madilyn was born at a good time because she has a lot of cousins around her same age. It was a lot of fun. Some of my favorite childhood memories are from holidays with my family. I thought it was normal to have about 20 or so different pies or desserts to choose from (I am not even exaggerating) on Thanksgiving until I had Thanksgiving with Anton's family. Dessert is my favorite part of Thanksgiving, I am not big on turkey and mashed potatoes. In this last October General Conference President Henry B. Eyring gave a talk called, "O Remember, Remember" he talked about an experience he had which made him think every day this question, "Have I seen the hand of God reaching out to touch us or our children or our family today?" This helped him recognize the evidence of what God had done for him and his family. He would write his experiences down each day. This talk has inspired me to do the same. I can be pessimistic at times and kind of wallow in my own self pity, but this has helped me realize the blessings that I have in my life and how much God loves me and my family. It makes me realize that I have so much to be thankful for. So I will end this blog with a few things that I am thankful for.
1. Anton, he is such a good person, great husband and father, I just love him!!
2. Madilyn, she has brought so much happiness into our lives and she is just so dang cute!!!
3. My family, they have always loved me no matter what.
4. Anton's family, I really could not have asked for better in-laws.
5. Friends, throughout my life I have been so blessed with so many great friendships. Quality is way better than quantity.
6. The gospel of Jesus Christ.
7. My empire red kitchenaid.
8. Shopping/getting new clothes/a great sale. It may not give long term happiness, but the happiness I do get from it is still fun.
9. Beautiful weather, it is always hit and miss here in Oregon.
10. People who leave comments on my blog. It really does make me happy to read them :)
I hope everyone has a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!!

Well Happy Thanksgiving to you.
So, its normal to have 20 pies? just like you thought it was normal to not clean the toilet rim until we cleaned my parents house. You are so not normal. =>
Well have a good Turkey day. Lil one sure looks like you.

I loved reading your gratitude list. It’s nice to remember all that God has blessed us with. Since Thanksgiving is on Thursday does that mean we get to start our Christmas baking on Friday? We should have our second annual fudge and cookie baking day, particularly with number seven on your list. I’ll have to just drool at yours for now. If I don't talk to you before, have a great Thanksgiving!
